  • ER5183 welding wire is an high strength aluminum-magnesium alloy. It mainly consists of approximately 4.3% to 5.2% magnesium and 0.75% manganese
  • It is commonly used on 5XXX series alloy, such as 5083 and 5456 base material
  • The magnesium content in it provides increased corrosion resistance, which is beneficial when welding parts that will be exposed to marine or corrosive environments.
  • Welds made with it  can be effectively anodized, which is a surface treatment process used to increase corrosion resistance and add decorative finishes to aluminum components.
  • Commonly used in shipbuilding,aerospace,construction,pressure vessels,marine and offshore  and other high strength structural aluminum applications
