Description
E308L-16 is a rutile-low hydrogen potassium stainless steel electrode designed for welding austenitic stainless steels such as 18-8 stainless steels (e.g., 304, 304L). With low carbon content and high chromium-nickel composition, it provides excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion, particularly in applications where post-weld heat treatment is impractical. The rutile-low hydrogen potassium coating ensures stable arc, minimal spatter, and easy slag removal, making it suitable for all-position welding.
KEY FEATURES
- Low Carbon Content: The low carbon content (<0.03%) helps minimize the risk of carbide precipitation during welding, which enhances corrosion resistance.
- Good Corrosion Resistance: Particularly effective in environments where resistance to oxidation, intergranular corrosion, and general corrosion is required.
- Excellent Weldability: Provides smooth, easy-to-control arcs, low spatter, and excellent bead appearance.
- All position welding
- Suitable for chemical process industries, food and beverage industry, pressure vessels
